Catering Chef Needed

This position is at Impressions Catering located in Anchorage Alaska. It is NOT a remote site position.

Summary
The Catering Chef must be presentable and able to communicate professionally and with a can-do attitude to staff and customers. He/She must accurately and efficiently oversee catering events and enjoy preparing incredible food while working for this great growing company. This is a hands-on position.

Qualifications
Catering Chef experience of at least 3 years is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
• Experience in ordering, inventory, food cost, labor cost, scheduling, and budgeting
• Ability to communicate to staff and customers with a can-do attitude
• Must Have creative food presentation and knowledgeable on current food trends
• Must be Customer service driven
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Experience with Microsoft word and excel
• Flexible Schedule with the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Formal culinary training is preferred, can substitute with proven years of culinary experience
• Employee must have a driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Employee must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screen and physical
• Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
• Assists in food prep assignments
• Must know the proper safety culture

Supervisory Responsibilities
Will discuss at interview

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

ServSafe and Driver’s License TAMs card

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; and at least three years’ experience as an executive chef

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports/orders. Ability to speak effectively before customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts.

Other Qualifications

Work long hours and the ability to be on a moving railcar, some of the time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heat, motion, cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
