Donlin Gold: General Helper - Remote Camp

We are looking for a General Helper to work at one of our remote locations in western Alaska.

Summary Ensure sanitary and clean rooms and common areas and/or maintains kitchen work areas and equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Sorts, counts, folds, marks, carries linens, makes beds.
  • Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Dusts furniture.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays, transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Obtains list of rooms that need to be cleaned.
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to maintenance.
  • Scrapes food off dishes and washes by hand or places them in racks in dishwashing machine.
  • Washes pots, pans, and trays.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors.
  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
  • Cleans out garbage cans.
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Stocks and Sets up tables.
  • Washes and peels vegetables and other food as directed by cook.
  • Loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

Education and/or Experience  Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
