Description

This is a general application to be considered for any remote site baking position which may open up in Alaska and Western US.

Summary The Baker prepares and serves baked goods and breakfast for employees and visitors of camp by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Bakes bread, pastry and desserts in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
  • May cook breakfasts in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
  • Washes dishes. Serves meals. Cleans and sanitizes.
  • Directs and trains activities of workers assigned to shift.
  • Ensures all activities are carried out in compliance with company vision, values, guiding principles, and policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises up to two associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Formal craft training is preferred.
