Description

We are looking for a Recruiter II to join our amazing team. This position is responsible for day-to-day recruitment activities for all job openings using the end-to-end recruitment process via the applicant tracking system, ensuring new hires are onboarded in a timely and accurate manner, and follow-up administrative tasks. This position also serves as a backup contact for incoming inquiries from associates and management relative to interpreting policies, procedures, and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

  • Recruit qualified candidates for a variety of roles within culinary, hospitality and corporate functions.
  • Process and approve job requisitions
  • Post open jobs
  • Source; Register for and attend Career Fairs. Collaborate with team to create and execute employer branding. Provide consultative, problem-solving support for challenging staffing needs.
  • Leverage social media and web based applications to proactively source candidates and develop a talent pipeline
  • Influence industry-specific partnerships for networking purposes.
  • Screen applications and conduct interviews to evaluate and summarize relevant skills and experience and make recommendations to hiring managers.

  • Schedule all post offer/pre-employment activities
  • Ensure hire packet is complete and that the new hire has received necessary information and training prior to dispatch to job location.
  • Be a subject matter expert around the applicant tracking system and process.
  • Ensure data integrity of recruiting system associated with the assigned activities to track metrics and respond to data inquiries with accuracy and a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal laws and company policies and practices for compliance, records retention, and reporting metrics.
  • Suggest process improvement opportunities of the recruitment and selections processes, best-practice sharing, and procedure creation/update for any process changes within area of responsibility.
  • Build sustainable relationships with leaders, hiring managers, internal associates, and external candidates.
  • Attend operations and safety calls to be aware of operational needs and challenges and to increase Recruitment/HR visibility. Prepare, coordinate, and present recruitment and onboarding topics as a training.
  • Assist with new account openings and/or payroll transitions by co-facilitating welcome meetings and other training activity.
  • Site visits to remote job sites to understand the business may occur from time to time, as well as short trips for Job Fairs in other Alaskan Towns. There may be overtime during periods of high-volume business or new business startups.

As needed:

  • Process status change forms to process new hires, terminations, employee changes, transfers, and general employee database maintenance in HRIS system to assist unit managers.
  • Respond to requests from unit managers or associates on employee relations issues by: Interpreting and explaining company policies (e.g., performance management, LOA, procedures, practices, and provide guidance to managers in handling difficult or complex employee relations issues and in resolving complaints or disputes, such as advising managers on appropriate disciplinary actions and procedures to ensure consistency. May provide risk assessments for terminations
  • Refer questions and issues to Compass Group Corporate Departments such as Payroll, Leave of Absence, or Benefits Help Desks when questions and issues are outside of regional scope.
  • May work on special projects, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Keep manager informed of all pertinent Recruitment/HR related matters as appropriate.

ABILITIES, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED:

  • Clear understanding of the end-to-end employment lifecycle processes.
  • Knowledge of best practices in recruiting strategies.
  • Experience with metrics and tracking to achieve goals.
  • Proven track record of recruiting, multi-tasking and driving for results in a high volume and fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment labor law.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Internet, Social Media, and Web-Based Job Boards such as Indeed, Linked In, Department of Labor portal.
  • Ability to perform queries, generate reports, perform web-based research, and create case management files.
  • Strong desire for continued learning and process improvements with passion about technology.
  • Knowledge of HRIS is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly and accurately assess candidates’ potential fit.
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and maintain organization in a changing environment with enthusiasm.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to write compelling employment ads

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or other relevant degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience with 1-3 years of experience as a recruiter, HR generalist or functional professional with relevant technical experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • PHR or SPHR Certification is a plus and would need to be achieved in the absence of formalized education.
